Goa is fast becoming a preferred city to stay, live and work for people across India.
Now, the government wants to make it more accessible and alluring for tourists from various countries. To do that, the State Government has started the process to provide ‘nomad visa’ for travellers.
"We want to invite more tourists specially from Europe and high spending tourists from other destinations by providing them an all round experience," said the State Tourism Secretary of Goa, Sanjeev Ahuja to PTI at the ITB Berlin, the world's leading travel trade show.
The Tourism Department, led by Rohan Khaunte, is facilitating the development of co-working spaces at Morjim and Ashwem beaches in a bid to provide a complete remote work experience to those taking advantage of the gig economy.
While Goa is currently known for its dazzling nightlife and beautiful beaches, Goa’s Tourism industry is focused towards perpetually welcoming and retaining international audiences to boost the local economy.
The introduction of co-working spaces by the beach is aligned to the longer term strategy of the state and to the broader vision of showcasing the rich culture and heritage that is an inherent part of the city.
