Student, the word alone that takes us all on a trip down the memory lane to some of the most rejoiceful days of our lives. The same days that become a never ending topic of “Remember when…” during reunions. If reading the above raised some curiosity about the purpose of today’s blog, Congratulations! You are still a student.
Late Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam always held boundless admiration for children or more importantly, students. Those tiny little beings that are always eager to find out how the light within the refrigerator goes off when you shut it off or when do stars sleep. Asking questions is one single trait that distinguishes a human from a student. It is how we update ourselves on things going around within the world. If your google search history looks like an x-ray filled with inquisitive and unfiltered questions, hop on board for a student knows no age.
15th October being the Birth Anniversary of Kalam Sahab, India celebrates it as World Student’s Day. This was done to honour his memory by recognising his passion for students across all groups of age and walks of life.
Dedicating his life to education and welfare of students, Kalam firmly believed that children are the future of any nation and making them proficient in their respective subjects of interest was a way to build the society for a better tomorrow. Although he was the 11th President of India and a renowned aerospace scientist, he identified himself first and foremost as a teacher. We at OurDesk abide by the same passion for education making it a place to “Study, work and thrive.” A current example of the same being Meheran, an aspiring CA who utilises his time here prepping for his exams with absolute sincerity.
He is not phased by any of the people working around him with maximum focus on his desk. He teaches us to be perseverant. With his motto, “Forgive and forget” he reminds us that no individual is inherently bad; it's often the habits that need to be disregarded or changed. This is the culture of coworking, where different individuals coexist together working towards achieving their respective goals. All for the student within them.
In conclusion, one must strive to be a curious kid in order to learn new things at all stages in life. But steer away from being eager to get into anyone else’s business because curiosity also killed the cat.
